Launched in late 2017, the 7th Gen Intel Core i9 7960X is a desktop processor based on 14nm SkyLake microarchitecture powered by 16 cores and 32 threads with a base frequency of 2.80 GHz which can go up to the max turbo frequency of 4.20 GHz. The CPU has 22 MB of Intel smart cache. It supports dual-channel DDR4-2666 up to 128 GB, It comes with default TDP variations of 165 W, and 44 PCIe 3.0 lanes for expansion.
