     11th Gen Intel Core i3 1115G4 | Review

11th Gen Intel Core i3-1115G4 Review | BenchmarkThe Intel i3 1115G4 is a budget-friendly processor that is part of the 11th Generation Tiger lake lineup. It is suitable for use in thin and light laptops, and offers a range of features including Intel Xe Graphics G4 with 48EUs, AI hardware acceleration, Thunderbolt 4, and WiFi 6. The i3 1115G4 is based on a 10+ nanometer architecture and is powered by 2 Willow Cove cores with 4 threads and a base clock speed of 3GHz, which can boost up to 4.1GHz. This chip is designed to compete with the Ryzen 4000 series CPUs and offers improved performance over the previous generation, with increased base and boost clock speeds, L3 Cache, and IPC (instructions per clock). According to Intel, the 11th Gen Willow Cove cores offer double-digit improvement in IPC compared to the 10th Gen Sunny Cove cores.

    Intel Xe Graphics G4 48EUs

Launched in August of 2020 Intel Iris Graphics Xe G4 48EUs with 48 EUs (execution units) as a part of its Tiger Lake U integrated graphics solution and can be found in low-end CPUs such as the 11th Gen i3, Pentium, and Intel Celeron and has a base clock of 400 MHz and a boost clock of 1250 MHz.

How is the 11th Gen Intel Core i3 1115G4 (Good or Bad)

The 11th Gen Intel Core i3 1115G4 when it comes to real-world performance is between 10th Gen Intel Core i3 1005G1 and 1035G1. It is a great CPU for your day-to-day tasks essential tasks such as Browsing, Streaming, Videoconferencing, and using office productivity workloads such as excel and PowerPoint. However, if your workflow involves video editing, photo editing, and CAD workloads I am not going to recommend the i3 1115G4 as it is still a dual-core processor.

How is 11th Gen Intel Core i3 1115G4 for gaming

In terms of performance, Xe Graphics G4 when it comes to integrated graphics solutions performs relatively well and goes toe with the likes of AMD Vega 5 (4000 series) Graphics and Nvidia Mx230 Graphics which has 2 GB of dedicated Graphics. However, remember that as it’s an integrated graphics solution its performance greatly depends on a number of factors such as the configured TDP (15-28 Watts), Clock Speed, Cooling Solution, and RAM configuration.

    Cinebench R23

Based on cinema 4d the Cinebench R23 measures CPU performance in animation, 3d-modeling, simulation, and rendering. Single-core performance measures the responsiveness of the software under active workloads while the multi-core score measures the CPU’s ability to handle tasks such as rendering, encoding, and other workloads that benefit from better multi-threaded performance. The 11th Gen Intel Core i3 1115G4 gets an impressive single-core score in Cinebench R23 beating the likes of 10th gen i5 1035G1 and it’s AMD Ryzen counterparts such as the 3500U. However, the 11th Gen Intel Core i3 1115G4 is still a dual-core processor and is not very competitive when it comes to multi-thread performance, and gets absolutely destroyed by its AMD counterparts such as the AMD ryzen 3 4300U by 56 percent and the 11th Gen i3 1115G4 has half the performance of 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7.
