The 12th Gen Intel Core i3 12300 is an entry-level processor for desktops laptops based on Intel’s Rocket Lake architecture powered by 4 Golden cove cores with 8 threads and a base clock of 3.5 GHz which can be boosted to 4.4 GHz. According to Intel, the chip has a TDP of 60 Watts Based on Intel’s 10 nanometers architecture intel claims an IPC (instructions per cycle) gain of 19% compared to its predecessor Rocket Lake. The quad-core CPU comes with integrated Intel UHD Graphics Xe 730 and supports DDR4-3200 MHz/DDR5 4800 MHz RAM, PCI-Express Gen 5. The socket here is LGA1700 which supports Intel B660, Intel H610, Intel H670, and Intel Z690 motherboards.

Performance

If you want a desktop for office productivity, web browsing, and zoom meetings the 12th Gen Intel Core i3 12300 is a great option especially if you don’t have a dedicated GPU with its Intel UHD Graphics Xe 730 it is capable of easily handling media playback and gaming at low setting should be possible at acceptable framerates (30-40 FPS).
