It is a great upgrade if you like a thin and light notebook that can also function as a gaming device. This particular SKU is powered by the 10 Core/ 12 Thread processor the 12th Gen Intel Core i5 1235U and Integrated. Other key specs include 8GB of RAM, 512GB SSD and a 15.6 Inch FHD (1920 x 1080) 60 Hz display.
Design and Build Quality
In terms of design, The Acer Aspire 5 (A515-57) is still on the lighter side of the spectrum weighing 1.77 kg which is slightly heavier than the previous model. The display has pretty thin-size bezels and you can spot an HD webcam on the top of the display. When it comes to building quality, the lid is made of aluminum and gives off a premium look while the base is mostly made of plastic, you do get some flexes here and there but nothing major to be concerned about. The laptop has pretty smooth hinges and the lid easily opens up with one hand. Whenever you open the lid the keyboard slightly tilts in your direction due to its ErgoLift design which is new these days in many notebook-style laptops.
Keyboard and Trackpad
The Acer Aspire 5 with its ergo lift design, backlit keyboard, and dedicated Num pad section is great for gaming and typing. However, the arrow keys are smaller than other laptops on the market.
