AMD’s Ryzen 9 3950x is a desktop processor, based on TSMC 7 nm FinFET Matisse Zen 2 microarchitecture, that has 16 cores and 32 threads. It has a base clock frequency of 3.5 GHz and a boost clock speed of 4.7 GHz, a default TDP of 105 W, 64MB of L3 cache, and support for dual-channel DDR4 RAM 3200 MHz. AMD Ryzen 9 3950x is compatible with all AM4 motherboards based on AMD A320, AMD A520, AMD B450, AMD B550, and AMD X570 chipsets however in some cases you need a bios update. The AMD 3950X trades blows with Intel Core i9-10980XE in overall performance. However, for gaming intel is still a better option.
