Laptop Review: ASUS VivoBook Ultra 15 M513IA-EJ311T(A well balanced and powerful thin and light laptop)

The Asus Vivobook Ultra 15 M513IA-EJ311T is powered by the AMD Ryzen 5 4500U and AMD Vega 6 Graphics. Other key specs include 8GB RAM and 512 GB SSD. The Display here is a 15.6 Inches FHD Panel. Consider its relatively thin profile this laptop has decent performance and is capable of handling most editing workloads with a little room for entry-level gaming.

Design and Build Quality

The Asus Vivobook Ultra 15 M513IA-EJ311T has a plastic chassis with a metallic finish. The Design looks premium but the build quality feels a bit flimsy. The hinge upon opening lifts the base of the laptop this gives the laptop better thermal performance and typing experience. The Weight here is 1.8 Kg which is relatively light making it easy to carry. The bezels here quite thin makes the device look quite modern.

Ports:

Ports selection on the Vivobook Ultra 15 M513IA-EJ311T quite good and my only complaint here is the lack of type c charging.

Overall Performance

The Vivobook Ultra 15 M513IA-EJ311T comes with Hexa core ryzen 5 4500U CPU which is comparable if not better than intel core i7 1065G7 which is the fastest 15-watt ice lake CPU. On the graphics end of the game, the Vega 6 GPU competes with Nvidia Mx330 in terms of performance. The RAM here also is quite fast running at 3200MHz with fast 512GB M.2 SSD as a storage module. All of these things combined make if well balance system. The only problem is that there is only 1 SO-DIMM Slot which is occupied with 4GB of memory which you can upgrade through it is only limited to 12GB.

Gaming Performance

The AMD Vega 6 Graphics (4000 Series) should be able to handle most modern games that are not very graphic demanding such as League of Legends, Dota 2, Minecraft, CS: GO, GTA 5, and Fortnite. But consider this it only has 12 percent of the benchmark performance when compared with industry-leading AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT.

Keyboard and Trackpad

The Asus Vivobook Ultra 15 M513IA-EJ311T keyboard has chicklet style keys with a backlight. The keyspace is 1.4 mm is perfect for typing but however, the keys themselves feel a bit mushy and lack a bit of a click. The trackpad on the other hand is smooth and precise with the fingerprint scanner on the top right corner. The size of the trackpad is below average.

Display

The FHD panel on the Asus Vivobook Ultra 15 M513IA-EJ311T has a 60Hz Refresh rate and doesn’t suffer from and noticeable issues such as backlight bleeding and PWM flickering. The display here has an average color coverage and below-average brightness and suitable for outdoor use.
