Laptop Review: HP Notebook 15s-fr2005tu

The HP Notebook 15s-fr2005tu is powered by the 11th Gen Quad-Core i5 1135G7 CPU and Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 80EUs. The RAM and Storage are configured with 8GB of dual-channel memory and 1TB m.2 SSD. The 11th gen i5 1135G7 is well capable of performing day-to-day tasks well enough and can also take care of more demanding workloads such as editing. However, the display here is a relatively average one and is not suitable for creative professionals as the color coverage is average, to say the least. That being said the highlight of the HP Notebook 15s-fr2005tu is the 11th Gen tiger lake processor and integrated Xe graphics.

Design and Build Quality

The HP Notebook 15s-fr2005tu has a plastic chassis with round edges. The bezels are relatively thin but the forehead of the device is slightly big. The device feels solid but has a cheap feel to it.

The Port selection here is poor. There are a few redeeming features such as Type C charging and SD Card Reader.

Keyboard and Trackpad

The keyboard of the HP Notebook 15s-fr2005tu chicklet style backlit keyboard. The key travel is short here and has poor resistance. The trackpad here is relatively small and but smooth with realiable feedback.

Display

The FHD panel on the HP Notebook 15s-fr2005tu has a 60Hz Refresh rate and doesn’t suffer from and noticeable issues such as backlight bleeding and PWM flickering. The display here has a below average color coverage and brightness.
