Description
11th Gen Intel Core i5 11300H Review
The i5 11300H by Intel is a part of its 11th Gen Tiger lake lineup and can be found in mid-range gaming laptops. It is powered by 4 Willow cove cores with 4 threads with a base clock of 3.1 GHz and 4.4 GHz. The i5 11300H is based on the 10+ nanometers architecture. The other features include AI hardware acceleration, Thunderbolt 4, and WiFi 6. According to Intel, the base clock can vary based on the TDP with achieving a base clock of 2.6 GHz at 28 Watts and 3.1 GHz at 35 Watts. In terms of performance, the i5 11300H and i5-1145G7 are relatively similar. Both of these processors are relatively powerful in terms of single-score performance however it gets absolutely destroyed by their AMD counterparts in terms of multi-threaded performance.
IGPU: Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 80EUs
The i5 11300H also houses a brand new GPU which is significantly better than the previous-gen UHD 630 Graphics. The new Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 has 80 processing cores versus the 24 cores found on the Intel UHD 630 Graphics. You can expect up to 2x more performance from the Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 80EUs when compared with the UHD Graphics 630.
How is 11th Gen Intel Core i5 11300H Performance
The Intel Core i5 11300H when it comes to real-world performance is a lot better than its 10th generation counterparts. Not only the i5 11300H can easily handle your day-to-day tasks such as Browsing, Streaming, and using office productivity software but can also tackle more CPU-intensive tasks such as video editing, photo editing, and CAD applications. In terms of single core performance, the 11th gen Intel core i5 11300H is roughly 15 percent faster than AMD ryzen 5 4600H and 3 to 5 percent faster than AMD ryzen 5 5600H. However, when it comes to multi-core performance it loses its AMD counterparts by 25 to 35 percent.
Benchmarks
- Cinebench R23
- Cinebench R20
- Cinebench R15

Cinebench R23 is the updated version of Cinebench R20 now with AVX instruction set support. Single-core performance measures responsiveness and the multi-core score measures the CPU’s ability to handle tasks such as rendering, encoding, and other workloads that benefit from better multi-threaded performance.

Based on cinema 4d the Cinebench R20 measures CPU performance in animation, 3d-modeling, simulation, and rendering. Single-core performance measures the responsiveness of the software under active workloads while the multi-core score measures the CPU’s ability to handle tasks such as rendering, encoding, and other workloads that benefit from better multi-threaded performance.
