Design and Ports
Lenovo Legion 5 82B1000AUS has full plastic body construction but does not look or feel cheap but as a matter of fact, it looks and feels premium. The top lid has a matte finish that won’t attract fingerprints and with its minimal design blends well into an office setting. The display has a little flex especially when being opened with only one hand. To achieve the narrow bezels, Lenovo has gone for the webcam (nose cam) below the display. The hinges hold the display firmly in its place and allow an opening angle of 180 degrees. The Design is very similar to its predecessor the legion y540.
Ports
- 1x 3.5mm combo audio jack
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C
- 4x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
- 1x Type C USB 3.2 Gen 2
- 1x HDMI 2.0b
- RJ45 ethernet jack
Performance
The Lenovo Legion 5 82B1000AUS is powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 4800H which is slightly more powerful than the i7 10750H and is comparable to i9 9980HK in terms of performance. The 4800H with its 7nm manufacturing process and Zen 2 architecture gives its Intel counterparts a really hard time. The GPU here is an upper midrange GTX 1660Ti with GB of dedicated graphics memory though it is true that you may not be as powerful as its 20 series RTX counterparts however I don’t think so there is any game that would be unplayable.
Display: 144Hz FHD (BOE NV156FHM-NY5)
The FHD panel on the Legion 5 has a 144Hz Refresh rate with no issues and is overall a great display.
Display Specs:
- Panel Model Number: BOE NV156FHM-NY5
- Coverage: 100% sRGB | 76% AdobeRGB;

- Contrast Ratio: 1000:1;
- Response Time: 9 ms;
Keyboard and Trackpad
The Lenovo Legion 5 82B1000AUS has a chicklet-style backlit keyboard. The keys have 2 stages white backlight and U Shaped keys. The keys are tactile and have a very clear actuation point. The trackpad is small smooth and precise with no issues.
