CPU: 10th Generation Intel Core i3 1005G1

The i3 1005G1 is part of its 10th Gen Ice lake lineup and can be found in budget and mid-range laptops. It has 2 sunny cove cores with 4 threads with a base clock of 1.2 GHz and 3.4 GHz. The 10 nanometers architecture allows the 1005G1 to draw less power and yield higher IPC (instructions per cycle) compared to its 8th generation counterparts (i3 8130U and i3 8145U). The higher IPC allows the ice lake CPUs to yield 18 percent more performance at the same clock speeds. The TDP of this Chip is specified by intel to be at 15 Watts but can vary anywhere from 13 to 25 watts.

The Intel Core i3 1005G1 is about 10 percent faster than its 8th gen counterparts.

GPU: Intel UHD Graphics G1 (Ice Lake 32 EU)

The Intel UHD Graphics G1 has 32 graphical units. It is based on Gen. 11 architecture based on a 10 nm manufacturing process. It can support 4K at 60Hz with a peak resolution support of 4096×2304 pixels and it can support up to a maximum of three displays with this graphics processor.

When it comes the day to day tasks it is very capable of handling most of them however when it comes to much heavier workloads such a 3D rendering the UHD graphics G1 is not a good solution.

How is the HP Notebook 15-dy1731ms for Gaming?

The Intel UHD G1 Graphics should be able to handle most modern games that are not very graphic demanding such as League of Legends, Dota 2, Minecraft, CS: GO, GTA 5, and Fortnite. But consider this it only has 5 percent of the benchmark performance when compared with industry-leading Nvidia RTX 3090. The other limitations here include the 60Hz refresh rate and (1920×1080) resolution. *These benchmarks are for the Intel UHD graphics G1.
