AMD Ryzen 9 7900X Review

Launched in September of 2022, Ryzen 9 7900X by AMD is a high-end desktop processor powered by 12 cores and 24 threads, based on Zen 4 (Raphael) microarchitecture with a 5nm processor technology for CPU cores and 6nm processor technology for I/o die manufactured by TSMC, It has a base clock of 4.7 GHz and goes up to the max boost clock of 5.6 GHz. According to AMD’s website, the processor has a TDP of 170 Watt, dual-channel memory which support DDR5 RAM up to 5200 MHz, and 24 PCIe Gen 5.0 lanes. AMD Ryzen 9 7900X is compatible with all AM5 motherboards based on a socket that supports AMD X670E, AMD X670, AMD B650E, and AMD B650 motherboards.

How is AMD Ryzen 9 7900x in terms of performance?

With the new microarchitecture and processor technology, AMD has done it again with a 13% IPC gain. Comparing the Ryzen 9 7900X with AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, we can see that we are looking at an increase of 900MHz which is enormous.
