    The i7 12700K by Intel is a part of its 12th Generation Alder lake lineup for High desktops and workstations. It is powered by 8 high-power cores (Golden Cove Cores) and 4 power-efficient cores (Gracemont Cores) with the power-efficient Gracemont cores having a base clock of 2.4 GHz and a boost clock of 3.8 GHz on the other hand the high-performance golden cove cores have a base clock of 3.6 GHz and a boost clock of 5 GHz. Based on Intel’s 10 nanometers architecture intel claims an IPC (instructions per cycle) gain of 19% compared to its predecessor Rocket Lake. According to Intel the base TDP (PL1) of the i7 12700K is 125 Watts and can be boosted up to TDP (PL2) 190 Watts. Other key features include support for DDR4 and DDR5 memory.

    Intel with its new Alder Lake lineup when compared with its Rocket Lake counterparts sees an impressive 19% IPC gain. Thanks to the Higher IPC we are looking at better single-threaded performance which translates to Intel taking its Gaming crown back from AMD. When it comes to real-world performance is a lot better than its 11th generation counterparts. When it comes to single-core benchmarks the 12th Gen Intel Core i7 12700K is 15-20 percent faster than the Ryzen 9 5900x on average and 5-7 percent faster in multi-threaded benchmarks.
