10th Gen Intel Core i5 10300H

Intel Core i5 10300H | Review

The i5 10300H by Intel is a part of its 10th Generation comet lake lineup and can be found in Mid-range gaming laptops. It is powered by 4 cores with 8 threads with a base clock of 2.5 GHz and 4.5GHz. The i5 10300H is based on the 14 nanometers architecture. According to Intel, the chip has a TDP of 45 Watts and is manufactured on a 14 nm manufacturing process and comes with integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630, and supports DDR4-2933 MHz RAM.

Performance | How is the 11th Gen Intel Core i5 10300H (Good or Bad)

10th Gen Intel Core i5 10300H can easily handle day-to-day tasks such as Browsing, Streaming, and using office productivity software and is a better option for light users compared to its ryzen counterparts. Now, if we are talking about more demanding tasks such as video editing, photo editing, and 3D applications is a good option for mid-range laptops however its ryzen counterparts with more cores will perform better. The 10th Gen Intel Core i5 10300H is comparable to the AMD Ryzen 5 4600H and i7 9750H in single-core benchmarks and i7 8750H in multi-threaded benchmarks.

Integrated GPU

IGPU | Intel UHD Graphics 630

10th Gen Intel Core i5 10300H is powered by Intel UHD Graphics 630 is slightly faster than previous Intel HD 630 Graphics. Intel UHD 630 with its 24 processing units can play games such as GTA 5 at low-setting at 30 FPS and CS: GO at 60 FPS at low settings.

3D Animation and Rendering Benchmark

We see that the Intel Core i5 10300H performs a lot better than its 9th Gen Intel counterpart the i5 9300H. When it comes to single-core performance which is relative to that of AMD Ryzen 5 4600H and when it comes to multi-core performance it is comparable to 9th Gen Intel Core i7 9750H.

Blender is an open-source digital content creation software for 3D-Modeling, Animation, Rendering, Video Editing & Compositing Solutions on the market. Blender has its own benchmarks and is used to measure the rendering capabilities of a CPU or GPU. The following bars indicate the time is taken to render a scene ( Less is better)

Cinebench Benchmark
Based on cinema 4d the Cinebench measures CPU performance in animation, 3d-modeling, simulation, and rendering. Single-core performance measures the responsiveness of the software under active workloads while the multi-core score measures the CPU’s ability to handle tasks such as rendering, encoding, and other workloads that benefit from better multi-threaded performance.

How is 10th Gen Intel Core i5 10300H for Video Editing

  • HWBOT x265 v2.2 4K

We see that the Intel Core i5 10300H performs a lot better than its 9th Gen Intel counterpart the i5 9300H but compared to its AMD 4000 series counterparts its doesn’t perform very well. The HWBOT x265 v2.2 4K benchmark renders a video with a 4K resolution using x265/HEVC encoder and can be used to measure how fast a CPU will encode a video.

Geekbench Benchmark (Real World Performance)

The GeekBench Single-core score can be used to estimate the real-world performance of day-to-day applications such as Ms word, Google Chrome, and several games. The GeekBench Multi-core score can be used to estimate the real-world performance of a CPU under professional workloads such as data compression, 2d/3d rendering, machine learning, and physics simulation(CAD applications).
